Wei Wei a young multimedia artist and designer with a great passion for discovering interesting and useful things. He has been engaged in experimental media focusing on interdisciplinary design studies. Now, Wei Wei, with enthusiasm, is beginning to explore new fields of knowledge.
"Mood Machine" is an interactive installation about Tesla Coil, which is the experiment media subject. By the design of new media experiments and multimedia design, identify Tesla Coil as the new media to be applied in the potential expressed by multimedia. Therefore, "abstract information expression of experiment media" becomes the theme of this experiment creation. Depending on the simulation of human mood characteristics to convey information, and interact with the audience by the abstract visual, auditory and perceptional tactile senses of sound, light and electricity to enable the audience to percept the presentation of abstract information in psychological model so as to fulfill the expression of experiment media in multimedia design.
Lightning owns the physical property of integration of sound, light and electricity. But its existing status cannot be controlled by human beings, nor can it be conveyed in the perceptional level. As the experiment subject, Tesla Coil happens to get the media property of generating controllable artificial lightning. Based on the controllability of the experiment subject and the physical property research of the media, gradually explore the media expression scope and information conveying mode of the Tesla Coil. In the mean time, although electricity itself is dangerous, Tesla Coil can have the same artistic expressional power such as paintings, sculptures and audio images by our meticulous design and protection.
This system mainly designs and defines the audience participation mode and the information system to be conveyed by the device by experiment research. In the followed device making and testing phases, adjust and optimize the design schemes in accordance with the appearing obstacles.
This system mainly includes the background controlling program and the hardware equipment of signal switch so that interacted information can be delivered to Tesla Coil system and controls its work. Therefore, the objective of Tesla Coil controllability and visual and auditory changes can be achieved.
This system mainly includes the core unit formulation of Tesla Coil and the design of working electric circuit so as to fulfill the sound, light and electricity output of the abstract information in the interactive system.

Save Paper is a community interactive advertisement designed to focus on environmental protection. Analyzed from investigation, papers, what we are using everyday, will lead the amazing pollution and disruption for our surroundings no matter in raw material collection, manufacture and processing. Many people ignore the relations between paper wastes and environmental disruption. Paper saving should draw the attention of the general public because paper now is using extensively in large amount.
The interactive advertisement of "Save Paper" mainly integrates the audience into the situation by vivid visual presentation and simple interactive design. The advertisement starts from a bin full of wasted papers. The players can click the trigger-able objects to experience the amazing and vivid natural scenery behind every piece of paper – to feel the grand beauty of the nature. In the last scene, the advertisement slogan "What a beautiful sight" – "But we are abandoning now", followed with the bin of wasted papers to warn the audience to "Please save paper, you can make a difference!"
Cancer Game is a community flash game, design for the public benefit.
By investigating cancer symptoms and pathological information as well as investigating and experimenting on the audio and visual languages and interactive mode with the theme of emphasizing on cancer health, integrate and design an interactive multimedia work in terms of a game so that people can pay more attention on cancers and find ways to combat cancers.
Achieve the objectives to know cancers, combat cancers, pay attention on the information conveying of health by the design procedures of systematic investigation, research, design and experiments, etc. as well as the mode of game. In the mean time, improve the effectiveness of experiments and researches by the study, design and formulation of games and obtain the capability to solve problems by systematic design.
Focus on the researches of cancer health and locate the research starting point by analyzing the investigated and collected materials. People's living habits, diets and moods as well as the genetic genes and the objective roles of environment pollutions can have direct impact on the disruption of cancers on health. Therefore, in this design, I mainly focus on the pathogenic factors of the living habits, moods and other reasons caused by self behaviors and convey the information by the relaxing and entertainment by term of game. In the mean time, the systematic designs of audio and visual languages, information architecture and interactive modes will be the main research subjects.
Cancer Game is divided in several passes such as lung, liver, stomach and intestines, etc. The players will have to consider the organ functions and the pathogenic factors when they experience every organ and try to explore the inner logistic relations within the game and apply the useful objects to combat cancers in the game, restore health so as to achieve the conveying of health information.
Project design – embrace. It is a foldable plate which can be hung up. It is designed by using geometric figure designing methods. If you ponder on the word "embrace", you will find that it is not only a kind of behavior, but also an emotional symbol from the heart of human beings. It seems that embrace itself is the silent words, communicating our emotions. The emotional symbol "embrace" is the main designing concept – to feel the artistic aesthetics and interactive beauty among people to be expressed in this product design.
We will associate the concrete image of "embrace" with a personal image with open minds in presented forms. In the mean time, the image also exhibits the statues and mobile trends of intersecting, hauling in and overlying.
Analyzed in the abstract prospective, embrace embodies a concept of "combination". It is a mobile trend that two parts can be combined together. Seen in terms of space, embrace creates a space by positive and negative intersection with the mobile status of being combined together. When the embrace starts, the two spaces can form a new integral part. Mentally, an embrace can move the people involved. The expression of emotions exhibits enthusiasm, affection, harmony and balance.
Use the methods of interception, underlying and reconstitution and apply the figures in the mainstay design of the plate.
Create a figure of embrace and apply it in the pedestal of the suspended plate.
The plate-making process, from making paper prototype to finishing the metal product, is completely cut by manual works.
